Palin's Shucks & Aww

There have been several conservative journalists calling for Palin to step down. In their judgement, Palin is entirely too plain spoken - something that does not gel with government-speak - and she does not present herself in the same capacity as the politics-as-usual crowd. Whether the columnist is Parker or Leboutillier, there has been a tendency to discredit Palin because, in the end, Palin is the face of average Americans.

Rather revealing isn't it? The same conservative journalists who rally for a candidate to stand up for those of us residing outside of DC, New York and LA are the same ones embarrassed by Gov. Sarah Palin - and ultimately 'us'. Seems it is not just the liberal journalists who are full of their smug selves.

Gov. Sarah Palin spoke to America last night while expertly taking Biden to task with her size 6 pump and a smile on her face. She connects with people on a sincere note - not the pretentious Harvard tripe sliding off the lying tongue of a rather unaccomplished Obama and his sidekick Joe who has never worked outside of Washington DC.

I am thankful our forefathers had the wisdom to provide a framework in which, as Thomas Jefferson described, a farmer could best represent his interests and a merchant could best represent his by running for office or inserting his interests in the debates. After all, Jefferson once wrote, who to best understand the affairs of the farmer than the farmer himself?

If these so-called conservative journalists truly understood Reagan's appeal, they would not be so critical of Palin. I see in Palin what Reagan had: a belief that America was great because of her people, not because of legislation; that Americans are ordinary people who do extraordinary things.

For those criticizing Palin for saying 'Aww' or 'doggonit', I can only wonder why you are so comfortable with Biden's 10+ lies last night as he looks straight into the camera at you. Does it not bother you that he deliberately urinated on your leg and called it 'rain'? Does that not offend you more than 'shucks' or 'aww'?

Give me Palin's good ol' American authenticity anytime!

Sidenote to conservative journalists: Many of you praise Reagan's legacy, and I believe he was not thought well of by journalists and members of his own party before becoming president. In fact, he was painted as an old dolt who didn't talk like Washington. Be prepared to eat your words about Palin.

McCain/Palin all the way!
